how to read two books at once

Can you read two books at once?

I only seem to attempt this feat when I have one book I don’t like and I can’t wait to get on to the next book. So before I’m finished with the book I don’t like I’ll start another book. Under the premise that I will slowly chip away at the book I don’t like.

Usually this doesn’t work. The book I don’t like goes unfinished as I get sucked into the new book.

So how could I attempt to read two books at once. I would have to give myself a rule that I’m not allowed to pick up the new book until I’ve read at least 10 pages in the book I don’t like.

That’s what I’m going to try.
